Morden ADU, Pollinator HQ
This client brought me in mid-construction of their new backyard ADU to help shape a garden that could do it all: provide a communal space for outdoor dining, a soft spot for kids to play or relax, and support local wildlife. We kept the layout simple but intentional, maximizing function and ecological value. A compact native lawn offers a gentle landing zone, while surrounding beds are filled with pollinator friendly plants. The rooftop ADU became a highlight: a vibrant pollinator habitat featuring grasses, buckwheats, succulents, and colorful perennials. In the first year alone, we watched ten monarch caterpillars hatch into butterflies, a joyful sing that the garden is alive and working.
